New roof for home in Ringwood, NJ 07456

  • Post category:roofing

“The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry” This is a saying attributed to Robert Burns in 1786 and is as relevant to our work today as it was for whatever home remodeling project Mr Burns had to cope with in the 1700’s!

Although we inspect every roof we replace before the work starts, it’s often not until we start that the full extent of the work required becomes evident. In this specific situation we started work as usual removing all the old shingles down to the sheathing. Our standard protocol at this point includes a complete inspection of the roof for any damage from water, insects or mold. We also check for proper fastening.

Sometimes the true extent of a project isn’t obvious until we start work

On this project we found numerous sheets of plywood that had delaminated over time and were no longer structural sound. We replaced 20 sheets with new 5/8 inch CDX plywood and fastened them securely to the rafters.

After the new plywood was installed we completed the job using Atlas Pinnacle® Pristine Weathered Wood Architectural Shingles.

Weathered Wood Shingles

Atlas Pinnacle Pristine Architectural Shingles offer many benefits for homeowners:

  • They offer a Lifetime Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects
  • They are rated up to 130 mph wind resistance
  • They feature Scotchgard protection against algae

The homeowner can now certain they’ll have a solid roof for many years to come!

All finished!
